The long way here
My path into real estate wasn't a straight line. The hotel industry taught me that service lives in the small details, the things guests never ask for but always feel. Running my own home baking business taught me what it means when every order carries your name. And my corporate years at a real estate developer showed me how the property world works from the inside, while quietly convincing me that a 9 to 6 wasn't where I'd do my best work.
So I left to do something more fulfilling. The honest version: working for myself meant longer hours, not fewer, and every month depends on my own discipline. I stayed because this work lets me do what every job before it trained me for, which is to serve people with my whole heart, at the moment it matters most: the biggest financial decision of their lives.
That standard was sharpened early. A client once asked me one question and I answered exactly that, nothing more, and a better option went unmentioned because I hadn't read between the lines. I promised myself it would never happen again. Now I listen for what you're not saying, surface every option, and never recommend anything I wouldn't put my own money into. At the end of the day, I want to go home and sleep well.
You will understand your options, your funds flow, your risks, and your route, before you make the move.
